What to expect during your hearing exam
At the time your appointment, Dr. Brady will arrive at your home or place of work. Although the testing equipment has the technology to make adjustments to cancel out extraneous noise to obtain the most accurate results, we ask that the test is performed in an area with very little background noise.
- Firstly, you will get to know each other a little bit to discuss the reason for your appointment, your concerns and important medical history.
- Next, Dr. Brady will examine your ear canal to ensure that a build-up of wax is not the issue and check your ear canal and eardrum for any abnormalities.
- You will then be asked to respond every time you hear a beep and repeat various words. This will allow us to pinpoint your specific areas of difficulty to aid in the proper recommendation for treatment.
- Finally, Dr. Brady will thoroughly discuss your results and make a recommendation based on your specific needs. She will discuss your lifestyle and listening goals to determine which hearing aids could be beneficial to you, together.
